1. A room is a place where you can escape, unravel, and be alone. When children share a room, their escape is spoiled by the other sibling's unnecessary chatter and presence. Without a room of their own, children have no place to be alone and secure.
2. Sharing a room can lead to stress, fatigue, and even depression. 3. Sharing a room is just plain ANNOYING. Fighting over who gets to use which closet, "His stuff's on my side", etc. 4. It's noisy for the parents! When kids share a room they are more likely to fight, so parents have to spend more time stopping them. 5. Bad grades. When there is a noisy sibling in the room, it's hard to focus on homework.
