You want to make bars because they are no hassle, mix the batter, pour in a pan. But you want to make cookies because they are so crispy and amazing, but you have to shape the dough, which can sometimes be annoying when you want a quick snack or a dessert to take to a party. Well get this, these are Cookie Bars. The recipe is actually for chocolate cookie dough but modified to make bars. And you bake them in a pan. Already drooling? I thought so. ingredients 2 1/4 cups flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 cup (two sticks) butter, softened 1 cup brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla 2 eggs 2 1/3 cups chocolate chips 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) instructionsPreheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In another mixing bowl, combine butter, brown sugar and vanilla. (I combined them with a spatula and mixed until there were no clumps of butter, and the mixture was brown and creamy.) Mix in eggs. Add half of the flour mixture, mix, and add other half. Mix until a dough is formed. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. (if you are using nuts) Spread mixture evenly in rectangular cake pan. (or loaf pan or any other kind of rectangular pan that is not shallow!) Bake for 20-25 minutes. Cut into squares. Enjoy!
