An average American family of 5 people spends about $200 on groceries each week. Half of that being fruits and vegetables. That’s a lot of money! Now, to get a successful garden going, the cost is about $50 for the seeds and general things you will need. And, the best part is, your garden will produce enough for many, many weeks, saving you money all spring, summer and fall! You can even freeze the produce that you couldn’t eat, (Because gardens produce a lot!) and save it for the winter when your garden is dormant. But what are flowers good for, you are wondering. Sure, they are pretty, but what else? Will they save you money? A bit. You will resist the urge to buy beauty products and decorations when you have flowers in your very own backyard, and some flowers are even edible, perfect for salads or cake decor.
